hi every one well what can i say about last sunday? there is only one word that comes to mind magical; the atmosphere was electric the costumes were amazing and the troupes were all brilliant;we all really enjoyed the day and it was a privelage to judge you; you certainly entertained us all well done grimethorpe for the ent tropy' and well done to every body for putting on a great show thanks to albert for making it all possible; happy christmas to you all from jean n derek x x x

THANK YOU SO MUCH for such a fabulous Christmas pom & flag event - the day was brilliant and our girls loved the atmosphere and even though they were nervous about their first team competition they had a wonderful time and really enjoyed it! Good luck to my team...All our babies have only been twirling a few months and were reali proud of them..A big well done to Alex in our Senior Baton who had never picked up a baton til 6 months ago and has made it into our team.. I reali dont think she understands how well she has done and how she has amazed us all..Just shows with commitment dedication and obviously natural talent anything can be achieved.
Good luck to my leaders Emily and Chloe and mascot Shannon. Its a massive honour to have one of these places so be proud and keep strong.

i'm a new baton twirling coach started a troupe in Hartlepool (near Newcastle) Albert invited me down to watch the competition at Primrose Valley i really enjoyed the day all the troupes looked amazing - i used to twirl myself in Scotland and was a member of the SBTA - was great to see that twirling is still as popular now as it was when i used to twirl and the kids are still enjoying it - hope to see you all again soon hopefully with some of my girls - they have been training for just 3 weeks and i'm really impressed with them

Oh thats easy..... It was hardwork, busy but a FANTASTIC Weekend & I had a FAB time :-)
WELL DONE to ALL troupes who danced at the GBBTA GB Champs. The standard just gets better & better from Babies to Seniors at every comp! I've got to add that the sportmanship shown by ALL troupes around the arena was BRILL. I enjoyed all the sections that I judged on both days & also all the sections that I got to watch too!

hi all a massive thank u for another fab weekend, all troupes were amazing. and the preformances wer superb.big thank u to gbbta for all the hard work u put into ur comps and also foor the lovely wee gifts u gave trainers much appreciated.
a massive well dun to edinburgh for what we scooped between the 3 troupes.so u dun scotland proud again. ive got a really sore throat now and not much of a voice left lol.
lastly i would like to say i am the proudest trainer in the world, never in a million yrs did i expect lbt to win 29 times ,honestly no words can say how happy i am, from the bbys to the juniors u all dun amazing, every single one of u . also thanks to the parents for all the support thro this wkend , guys the 6days a week trainin paid off but bk to 2days now ok guys lol i need a holidays now to recover lol. all my leadera and mascots dun amazing and the sections dun fab.

My 1st weekend working the GBBTA and I enjoyed it from start to finish the stranded was high from Babies to Seniors from Poms to Military Freestyle, Saturday was good day and the Junior Section who were Arena 2 were amazing the show you put was just fab!!
Well Done to all the winners and to everyone who took part in what was an amazing weekend away, my hat goes off to the Judges who for some were on the floor from 8.15 till 3.00 and officials who again made the weekend happen and to Mr Albert Orme for creating this fantastic association in 2007 and bringing many troupes from all over the U.K together for a compertion with 16 hours of non - stop dancing on just one day. This was PHENOMENAL to see troupes that I havenât seen before and the atmosphere in both rooms was great with all the troupes clapping each other and showing support too all the sections
Well I have said enough now i think haha, Good Luck with all your routines and i will see you for the Classic Championships.

Hi to all the troupes in gbbta is there anyone who can help us. Ealier this year we lost our baton trainer and are now finding it difficult to train the girls new twirls as all our trainers have no baton twirling experiance. If there is anyone who would be willing to come to our training sessions this would be much appreciated. we are based in Sheffield and train on a wed evening 6-8pm or we can make it a weekend if that is easier. THE SIGNIFICANT THING IS THAT ALTHOUGH THEY RETIRED FROM COMPETING THEY ALWAYS THOUGHT OF THEMSELVES AS BAND OR MAJORETTE MEMBERS AND WE KNOW OF ADULTS WHO CAN STILL SHOW THEIR OLD UNIFORM AND PHOTO'S FROM THE EIGHTIES CAN YOU BELEIVE. I KNOW THIS IS GOING ON BUT WE TRYING TO PUT 30 YRS WORTH ON HERE AND IT'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO SHOW THE HALF OF IT. WE WOULD JUST LIKE TO ADD THIS THOUGHT. BOYS START RUGBY OR FOOTBALL AND FIND THAT THEY HAVE SPONSORSHIP OF FREE STRIPS AND TRAVEL EXPENCES SO WHY IS THESE GIRLS WHO ARE BRILL AT THEIR SPORT FIND IT SO HARD TO RAISE ANY MONEY AT ALL AND BASICALLY RELY ON THE BANK OF MUM AND DAD TO JUST EXIST. I DON'T KNOW AND NEVER HAVE OF ANY TROUPE WHERE THE PEOPLE THAT DO ALL THE ORGANISING AND OR TRAINING GET ANY MONEYTRY GAIN WHATSOEVER AND EVEN IF WE ALL HAD SPONSORSHIP I DON'T THINK THERE WOULD BE MANY WHO WOULD EXPECT IT TO BE FOR ANYONE EXCEPT THE TROUPE.FINNALLY, DO WE HAVE ANY REGRETS? WELL YES MANY BUT THE MAIN ONE IS THAT WE DIDN'T START IT EARLIER AND THAT'S WHY WE HAVE ALWAYS TRIED TO ENCOURAGE YOUNGSTERS TO CONSIDER LEARNING TO BE A TRAINER OR JUDGE. BOTH THESE SKILLS ARE NOT SUITED TO EVERYONE BUT I'M GLAD TO SAY THAT WE HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL MANY TIMES AND DOING THIS AND SOME ARE STILL DOING IT NOW. THAT IS OUR LEGACY AND ONCE AGAIN IF YOUR STILL AWAKE WE THANK YOU FOR ALL THE GOOD THINGS, ACTIONS AND BEST WISHES FROM SO MANY PEOPLEBOTH ADULTS AND DANCERS. Vic AND Fran TRAINERS STILL. HAVE RESPECT FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ARE THE BACKBONE OF THE MAJORETTES YOUR TROUPE LEADERS AND OR TRAINERS WHO SOMETIMES SEE THEIRSELVES AS CHEAP BABYSITTERS BUT GIVE FREELY OF THEIR TIME AND OFTEN AT TO THE DETRIMENT OF THEIR OWN FAMILLY AND PERSONAL LIFE, ER! WHATS THAT? WELL ENDING NOW AS WE'RE OFF TO FIND OUT ABOUT NEW THINGS LIKE SUNDAY DINNERS AND HOLIDAYS THAT DON'T INVOLVE RUSHING AROUND ALL DAY WIPING NOSES AND TYING LACES. hi every one what can i say about the competition at primrose/ it was a corker of a week end , all the troupes were brilliant it was a privalege to judge u all , every troupe supported each other and stayed until the end . what an atmosphere; well done to all of you and we will look forward to oldham in june from jean and derek x x x,

BOTH TROUPES CAN BE CONTACTED THROUGH THE ABOVE LINKS PAGE AND MY ADVICE IS TO GO SEE BOTH FOR YOURSELF AND AS THEY ARE ONLY A SHORT DISTANCE APART YOU CAN CHOOSE BY WHAT APPEALS TO YOU RATHER THAN BY THE NEAREST TO YOUR HOME. I THINK GRIMETHORPE JUST DANCE WITH GBBTA SO DO AROUND 4 COMPS A YEAR WHICH GIVES THEM MORE TIME TO 'SPECIALISE' AND CRYSTAL LIGHTS DANCE IN TWO ORGANISATIONS AND COMPETE OVER 8 WEEKENDS A YEAR AND IN EVERY SECTION AVAILABLE. Hyaa im a 16 year old girl from doncaster i love dancing and batons and poms. im froma majorettes group but unfortuanlty we dont do competitions there isnt a seniro group their so i cant dance woth the, im looking for another troupe to move to where you do competitions. i would love to go to competitions to have the experience. i think im ok with batons. is there a majorettes near doncaster where i could come and see what you do and maybe join ?? please write back :) x x x x

WOW what can I say,what a fantastic weekend,well done to each and every troupe who entered,we were thouroughly entertained,the lively,freindly atmosphere was amazing.
A massive well done for our 1st time out senior military mums,we went out there for our girls we had no expectations whatsoever,but yet somehow leader and mascot picked up,fantastic what a result.
And to my beautiful daughter Jade G.M.M.Thank you for showing great showmanship, by waiting for Sam who got joint 2nd with you, to go on stage to recieve your medals, that really showed great respect . I love you babe.Thank you for making me burst with pride,you may not be in my troupe but it doesn't make me any less proud.
And of course my huge congratulations to ALL of Crystal lights you did fantasticly well,and Iam so proud of each and every one of you for all the hard work you put in.

Congratulations to Albert and the rest of the GBBTA committee on a successful Spring Championships!!
This was our first weekend away with you and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The event ran so smoothly which is a credit to the planning, organisation and fantastic teamwork that GBBTA showed throughout. The atmosphere was electric and I would like to thank everyone for all the positive comments that our team got. Well done to all performers who put in such enthusiastic and energetic displays from the Babies up to Seniors.
It 's an absolute pleasure to be part of such a friendly Association and we look forward to the rest of the season. Unfortunately we are unable to make the Oldham competition on the 28th June however we will see you back at Primrose Valley in October.
Finally, congatulations to East Leeds Comets for outstanding results and fantastic start to the 2009 season, I am so proud of you all!!

I KNOW THAT I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE TO HAVE CRINGED IN THE PAST AT THE ATTITUDE OF SOME OF THE TROUPES I HAVE COME ACROSS BUT WHAT A DIFFERENCE FROM DAY ONE OF GBBTA AND THIS W/E WAS EVEN BETTER. SOME OF THE GIRLS INVOLVED IN TIES WAITED FOR THEIR RIVAL SO AS TO GO ON STAGE TOGETHER WHICH IS BRILL. THE AMOUNT OF GIRLS AND PARENTS/TRAINERS/COMMITTEE THAT WAITED AND WATCHED AND CHEERED FOR THE LAST TROUPE ON WAS HEARTWARMING. THE TROUPE WHO WERN'T COMPETING ON THE SAT BUT CAME IN JUST TO GIVE ENCOURAGEMENT TO OTHERS PUT A LUMP IN THIS OLD MANS HEART COS I DIDN'T THINK I'D EVER SEE IT AGAIN. FINALLY I'D LIKE TO THANK THE 3 LADIES FROM VARIETY CLUB AT MIDDLESBORO WHO WERE JUST DOWN ON HOLIDAY AND MADE SOME VERY GOOD COMMENTS ABOUT THE GIRLS AND THE STANDARD OF COMPETITION. I HOPE THEY FOUND THIS SITE FROM MY INSTRUCTIONS AND I HOPE YOU DO COME AGAIN 'JUST TO WATCH' TODAYS YOUTH PERFORMING JUST FOR THE HELL OF IT AND NOT FOR MONETRY OR TV GAIN.

Hi everyone, just wanted to say well done to everyone, it was our first comps and to come away with trophies was amazing!!! I have never attended comps and was blown away with the standard and was totally inspired, we have lots to look forward to. We all had a brill weekend and every child and adult who performed all performed with professionalism and a love for the sport.
